I was talking to a friend of mine recently about how hard it is to stick to a goal.
The challenge is not to get disconnected to the goal.
A lot has been written about goals.
so here are my criteria for setting goals:
- They need to last at least 3 months.
- They need to address a problem you’ve been struggling with, sometimes for years.
- They need to be unconnected to monetary goals.
- They need to open up a hierarchy of problems and issues and challenges to think about, to write about and to strategize about.
- They need to come from an intuitive place.
For me, I recently stumbled on a general problem, which I started actively persuing.
I won’t share it here. I will share that back in the day, when I was working for Elementor, I took a similar huge goal, helping web creators build their business. I explored all areas of making money as a beginner freelancer, and did this for six months. Having this great goal, and not needing to prove it was the right goal, really helped me stick to it.
